Letter from stetson Hall re: Pesticide regulation - Mr. McQuaid informed <br /> -the Board Town Counsel has strongi,y recommended this Board rescind the reg- <br /> ulation as adopted. Mr. McQuaid stated Town Counsel has submitted a pro- <br /> posed regulation for the Board's review, which ,he feels this Board. has the <br /> authority to adopt. Mr. McQuaid explained Town Counsel has provided a pro- <br /> cedure in which to rescind regulations and an extension of twenty days has <br /> been given from the plaintiff's attorney which expires August 24, 1989. <br /> Mr. Costa, stated this Board will review the information provided for comment <br /> at the net scheduled meeting. <br /> 4. Contract from the Center for Board signature - Mr. Creel ish motioned to <br /> accept and execute the contract as presented, Nor. Doherty seconded, all <br /> agreed. (The Board forwarded their signatures to the contract. ) <br /> . Program proposal for the hone Counselling from the Center - fir. Oreel ish <br /> requested nested i t. McQuaid to schedule a, meeting with the Council on Aging to <br /> discuss the program proposal from the Center. <br /> . Endorsement request "An Act To Improve Air Quality" - Mr.. c ua i d informed <br /> the Board the state Representative is requesting the Board's endorsement <br /> for the-:Clearr.'_ i, Bi i l . <br /> Mr. Costa commented this Board will take individual action. <br /> . Letter from Michael Orot ke of New seabury to Agent re: Asbestos pipes - <br /> r. CQuaid informed the Board while witnessing a pert test, at one of <br /> the hole locations, lie discovered a considerable amount of asbestos pip- <br /> ing laying on the ground. Mr. McQuaid stated this discovery was made in <br /> the presence.. of Bret Rowe from D.E.Q.E. and Braman Engineering. Mr. <br /> McQuaid relayed it was his opinion at -the time that piping was non-pliable,, <br /> non-pliable asbestos can be landfilled and informed 1r. Grotzke he bury <br /> the piping as soon as possible, preferably before the backhoe backfilled <br /> it in, Mr. McQuaid explained -the next day he received a call from D.E. .E. <br /> informing hire that it is now the policy of D.E. .E. that this material <br /> cannot be simply landfilled. it rust now be packaged, sealed, labeled and <br /> then ith' the town' s permission landfilled, Mr. McQuaid stated he met with <br />
