MINUTES September 14, 1989 5 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> G <br /> i <br /> Mr,. <br /> - informed . Lipman the biggest problem facing the town is the <br /> generation of ' sludge from the treatment facilities which must be hauled away <br /> to wastewater treatment, p l a rpt s , many of these plants a.re no longer e ceptirig <br /> sludge d.ue to state regulations. Mr. costa relayed to- Mr. Lipman that eaten- <br /> sure research will be required to locate a favi i it,y that will accept the waste <br /> water�. <br /> Mr. Gree l i s h commented problems may- arise with D.F'.R. <br /> Mr. Lipman respl ied that he has .addressed this issue with Jeff Gould <br /> at D.E. _ -who 're l aged that he could not forsee any problems with a. holding <br /> tank for the waste water and would iook favorably upon the request. <br /> Mr. Gree f i s h reiterated Mr. Costa's comments stating the problem of dis- <br /> posi-ng of the waste water still remains. <br /> Mr. costa informed Mr. Lipman that a signed contract between the town <br /> a-nd the waste water facility is required prior to operation. <br /> Mr, Lipman stated there is a need for a landramat in town as residents <br /> rust travel 11 miles before one is found . and commented this could be deemed <br /> a hardship to some residents. <br /> Mr. costa suggested Mr. Lipman contact the hea.ith agents for comments or <br /> recommendations .and also suggested fir. L i-pma n receive all comments from D.E.P. <br /> in writing. <br /> Mr. Greelish suggested Mr, Lipman research the desalinization technology, <br /> 9. Copy of letter from Asst. Building Inspector o Mr. Twomey re: Building <br /> Occupancy permit, 33 Industrial Drive - Mr. costa stated he has requested <br /> Mr. cuai to prepare a letter to the Board of Appeals informing hem of <br /> this Boards requirements they would like instituted into the special per <br /> reit if granted. Mr. Costa stated he would lie to review the letter prion <br /> to forwarding. i <br /> r.- McQuaid informed Mr. costa the special permit application was with- <br /> drawn at their most recent meeting, <br /> Mr. Costa requested Mr. McQuaid to f o l i ow-up on the matter. <br /> 10. ) Co-py of letter from Weston & Sampson to Selectmen re: Articles for <br /> special town meeting - Mr. Costa relayed Weston & Sampson are recommend- <br /> ing this Board prepare a.- cLumne.nt- to put out for bid on costs for the <br /> landfill closure and has been presented to the Selectmen for review. <br /> Mr. Costa stated r it i s .unsure as to -when Grants. will become available, <br /> ' however it it necessary tok prepare the necessary documents. <br /> & W <br /> Mr. Greelish stated he would life to review the timetable with Weston <br /> Sampson. -- i <br /> 11 . Letter from High Wood Water 'to Board , Mater supply to "Donut Box" <br /> Mr. costa stated Mr. Virgilio has been 'directed not to issue. any new <br /> road opening permits -without the Selectmen}s. a proval .,. Mr. costa <br /> commented Mr. Virgilio will inform High Wood 'Water that approval rust <br /> be obtained from the Selectmen prior to the road opening permit. <br />
