Mr. Lipman commented the system has been
approved in Chatham and Chelmsford , as well as, a number r of locations i n Maine.
There will be leaching of approximately 0% of the water used by 26 gallon
front loading machines. This system would cut down on overall capacity of
water that is used in the community and leached out into other areas with
water that has ,not been treated. Mr. Lipman presented a letter from the
liiinois D.E.P. , who has reviewed this system and found it to be in compli-
ance with their standards.
Mr. Greelish commented the easiest verification would be a copy of
D.E.P. ' s previous approval .
. costae commented that D.E.P. did require that the waste disposal
tale place at a lawfully perryitted facility.
Mr. Lipmann explained that the waste becomes solidified, clean water must
be used for the final rinse, that water must travel thru a charcoal filtration
system which is then leached out. The solid waste i s .p 1 aced in a dumpster and
hauled away.
Mr. Costa stated 'the location of the l aundromat is an important factor.
Mr. Lipman stated hewill' be consulting with D.E.P. in the near future,
