Mr. Harrington agreed that that would be the best method of resolving this <br /> problem. <br /> APPOINTMENT: CHERRYSTONES <br /> Mr. James Kogut was present as the owner and operator of the Cherrystones <br /> restaurant. He was present to discuss his failure in obtaining the necessary <br /> Ser Safe certification. He was asking for a variance in order to complete the <br /> course within the next six-weeks. He began by stating that he had two employees <br /> that had Moir certification. His last employee left at the end of August. He has <br /> someone that he recently employed who would be taping the course on January <br /> 5th, 2002. <br /> Mr. Doherty began by stating that the first thing that carne to his mind is that if <br /> his last certified employee left in August and this was required by October i st, <br /> 2002. He should have stepped up to the issue before now. <br /> Ir. Kogut responded by stating that he f'kinda of forgot about it to tell you the <br /> truth.#' <br /> Mr. Doherty asked which employee was going to the next training course. <br /> Mr. Kogut replied that Mark MacDonald was going to the next class. <br /> Ir. Doherty asked why Mr.-Kogut was not being certified as it was his business. <br /> Mr. Kogut stated that he planned on going however he couldn't go at the sauce <br /> time as his employee. Mr. MacDonald was the dead chef and one of them was <br /> always there. <br /> Mr. Ball didn't have a problem with this. But, it does bring to mind that if it sloes <br /> happen again and it comes in front of the BOH members again. He would <br /> recommend that the BOH start issuing fines. <br /> Mr. Doherty continued that the problem that he has with issue is that this was all <br /> required back October 1 s', 2001. Everybody got a three-month extension. <br /> jMr. Harrington interrupted Mr. Harrington and added that the BOH seat out four <br /> reminders. There was one sent in October, one in November and two in <br /> December. <br /> Mr. Doherty thea continued that he specifically asked for the course information <br /> that was offered last year. <br /> Ms. Warden stated that there were more than what he had in his hand that were <br /> offered to the public last year. Furthermore, she held a class here last March in <br /> Town Hall with umpteen letters seat to everybody. <br /> Mr. Kogut responded that he knew about her class. But, his employees had <br />
