{
 r
practice. He doesn't anticipate any problems.ms. He wants the agents to be familiar
with what goes on ire regards to the preparation of the meals. He doesn't think it
makes any sense to blindly do it. Ke would like to continue this variance request
on the basis of an inspection and further knowledge of the services provided.
Mr. Ball asked if they were in a hurry for this variance.
Mr. Harrington didn't believe that the Elder Services were under any deadlines.
Mr. Ball made a motion to continue the variance request contingent upon ars
inspection of the facility and further knowledge of the services to be provided. Mr.
Santos seconded the motion. Motion passed.
APPOINTMENT: Cape &Islands Engineering 96 Algonquin Avenue
Mr. Doherty began the conversation by stating that it was now 7:30 PM and they
were expecting Cape and Islands Engineering to discuss 96 Algonquin Avenue.
Mr. Ed Belekewicz of 92 Algonquin Avenue introduced himself as being from
Providence Rhode Island. He lives next to 96 Algonquin Avenue. He began by
stating that this piece of property was a postage stamp plot of land.. He didn't
know that it was salable until there was a sign on it. He believes it is for sale
pending a building permit it. He is doing ghat he can to stop it,
Mr. Doherty responded that a lot of time what happens is that some of the
engineers get held up next door at Conservation. They don't mind holding it. But,
it will get put off'to the end so that the BOH could handle the other appointments
at the scheduled time. He hated to say it. But if hedidn't mind hanging around
he would that would be great. However, if he did mind hanging around he would
give him the opportunity to say what is on his mind and consider his opinion
when the appointment comes up.
Mr. Belekewicz asked how long that would be.
Mr. Doherty responded that the BOH had appointments until 8:45 PM, which
would probably go straight through until :00 PM. He continued by stating that if
Mr. Belekewicz had any comments for the record: What would be fine and they
would accept them into the record.
Mr. Belekewicz Megan by stating that he wasn't sure what the process was. Did
they have to his approval before it goes through?
Mr. Doherty responded that they didn't have to have his approval. No. But,
because he is an abutter you normally have to be notified of such things because
your opinion counts.
Mr. Harrington interjected that it was a Title V variance that the applicant is
requesting. So the immediate abutters have to be notified.
Mr. Doherty continued that he was legally required to be notified.
7
