That letter is stating that <br /> what the BOH has requested before is input and some recognition <br /> that community at large needs to show some inclination that they <br /> want a 100% ban of smoking in all restaurants and bars. He <br /> wanted to let the BOH members know that both sides are making <br /> notifications to the public basically at the BOH member's <br /> requests. <br /> Mr. Doherty asked how many the department had received to <br /> date. Lots? <br /> Mr. Harrington replied that there were 140 letters that have come <br /> from tourists that have visited Zachary's. There were 35 people <br /> from Cape Cod and 20 people that are town residents. There are <br /> fewer people in town that are visiting Zachary's that are receiving <br /> the letter and then sending it in. <br /> Mr. Doherty was sure that Mr. Halpern was sending them in rather <br /> than the people filling out the letter. <br /> Ms. Garron stated that the envelope had the same sticker with <br /> the town's address and a machine stamp. <br /> Mr. Harrington continued by stating that the letters through the <br /> mail from individual citizens are at a mere trickle.
