$39,000.00.
Ms. Warden stated that the contract figure is not inclusive of the
repair to the monitoring wells. If they choose to do that they don't
have to go to Woodward and Curran, they could just have a local
well driller install the monitoring wells. Those are options that
they are able to look at down the line. The overall picture shows
them to be significantly less than Weston and Sampson. Weston
and Sampson had called about the budget. However, she has not
returned the phone call until the decision about the contract was
made by the BOH.
Mr. Doherty stated that they have had many instances where they
have been unhappy with Weston and Sampson over the last few
years. Woodward and Curran is a more qualified firm. They
certainly submitted a respectable bid.
Mr. Harrington reiterated that Ms. Warden has clarified quite a
few of the dealing on what exactly the activities should be.
Ms. Warden continued that they did remove the transfer station
inspections that were incorporated initially. She finally got them
to remove them. It was hard for Woodward and Curran because
they don't understand the entities involved.
Mr. Doherty stated that he understood that predicament too.
Mr. Ball made a motion to grant Woodward and Curran the landfill
maintenance contract for the fiscal year 2003. Mr. Doherty
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Mr. Ball asked what the total savings was to the BOH.
Mr. Doherty replied that it was $8,000.00.
Mr. Doherty then asked Mr. Harrington if the overall budget would
decrease because of the savings.
Ms. Warden stated that they were not going to show the decrease
because of the well repairs that will be made in the future.
71
