in their own things too. But, he knew that they are expecting the BOH
members to present something. He then asked Ms. Garron.to pull out the
smoking regulations and make a copy for each of the BOH members.
They should then review and make comments on them.
8. Meeting Reminder- Community Advisory Committee, Wednesday, April
3'. 2002. Duxbury Town Library 7:00- 9:00 PM.
Ms. Warden stated that this was in regards to the Childhood Leukemia
Study and was for information only.
9. Landfill Engineering Services Contract (Board Signatures Required)
The Board Members forwarded their signatures to the contract. Ms.
Warden asked Ms. Garron to type in the names of the individual board
members under their signatures.
Mr. Santos asked if the well issues where straightened out.
Ms. Warden stated that all of the issues at the last review of the contract
had been straightened out. It was on the agenda under new business.
She stated that they cut the BOH $10,000.00 in the engineering services
account. That was per her recommendation because she included repairs
to the wells. The finance committee came down and requested that we
explain the funding for that account. She feels that the BOH could
request an r.f.p. for repairs to the wells will may reduce the amount that
Woodward and Curran are proposing.
Mr. Santos stated that the shallow gas vents they really don't have a
problem with. But, when you get stuck hitting sand you can't sample
water. They usually have an issue. If that is something that they are
going to come back and make us fix it. They we are going to have to go
in front of the Selectmen and the Town Administrator and advise them
that they are going to be in violation with the DEP. The DEP is going to
fine you every day. This is one of the things that they can't mess around
with and the town management needs to understand this issue.
Mr. Ball stated that there was an $8,000.00 savings just by re-bidding
with Woodward and Curran. He would like to take that money and put in
back in to the items that they are cutting.
10. Commercial Plan Approval -60 Nicoletta's Way "Briggs Landscaping"
Ms. Warden began by stating that, as they well know the BOH members
approved the plans. This is a system with a bull run valve. This is on
Route 130 after the Chopping Block. Ms. Warden is going to have Mr.
Harrington look at it one more time because she is 100% comfortable
with the trenches.
18
