IIIb. Lil stated that there wasn't anything significant found in the
sampling. They have the results that they will continue to evaluate. But,
the initial interpretation of the data was that there was not a
contamination problem in Moody. If is a significantly shallower pond than
some of the others there. It would appear that any contamination that
they do have, particularly the eastern Briarwood Plume was in this area.
They still monitor in that area although the Plume no longer has any
concentrations above the drinking water standard. That is why it is no
longer shown on the map. It would appear that it would be deeper and
would under-flow what contamination that would be there.
IIIb. Gill then asked if there were any questions.
Nobody asked any questions.
Mr. Gill stated that main if they need any additional information from
therm or questions that folks have in property or wells just let them know.
MIs. Warden asked if the flier to the residents has changed regarding the
swimming risks, etc.
Mr. Gill replied that there is ars annual update done on that each year. He
asked Mr. Miers to address that question because the DPH is the group
that puts that information out.
IIIb, Mierz replied that what they do each year is collect surface water
.data from -ASFCE, EPA and DEP, whoever has the available data from all
of the ponds on the Upper cape* They review the concentration of the
chemicals that were detected and compare those to health standards to
determine if there is a potential problem. That review is included in the
fact sheet that Ms. Warden was referring to where there are several
questions and answers, They were in the process of reviewing the data
and updating the information that will be put out before Memorial Day.
Ms. Warden asked if we would receive a good standard amount of copies.
Mr. Mierz replied that he would absolutely provide the BOH with what we
needed. If there were any questions they should contact him.
Mr,.Ball asked what the health risk would be if people granted onto the
bogs and began eating the cranberries. Was that.a touchy subject?
Mr. Mierz replied that that was a touchy subject before he came on
board. In fact, they tried to assess whether there would be a health
1
