6. Review of Building Permit Request: 116 Popponesset Island Road
Mr. Harrington reviewed the original request with the BOH members. He
had wanted the BOH members to review this request because it pertains
to an additional room above the garage on a garage addition. They wanted
a true art studio rather than a living studio. But, they wanted to have a
bathroom in the garage and the BOH had been through this type of request
before. He had wanted them to review it because he had had several
conditions that he had set with the engineers, none of which were done.
Mr. Ball asked if the BOH hadn't asked them to move the bathroom
downstairs.
Mr. Harrington replied that that had been done previously on another
property. He wanted the BOH members to continue this item because of
the applicants' failure to appear at the meeting. He wanted to allow them
one more opportunity to attend a meeting. They were the ones who
requested to come to this meeting. He was expecting them to be here.
Mr. Santos stated that this was looking awful close to a bedroom with a
bath.
Mr. Harrington confirmed that this was a finished room with a bath in the
garage. But, they don't' want to do anything to the upgrade the septic
system.
Mr. Ball stated that they would wait on making a motion until they gave
the applicants further opportunity to make an appearance.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Citizens of Mashpee Request to Revisit Smoking Regulations (continued
from previous meeting)
Mr. Santos stated that he was going to continue this item until the next
meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Request for Food Establishment license: Zesty's Hot Dogs
Mr. Cyril F. Wells and Cyril Alexander Wells were present. Mr. Wells is the
principal of Zesty's Hot Dogs. He was here to request a waiver of
temporary food vending permitting from the health department. He would
like to run a hot dog stand on the property of"Hoop House" on Route 28.
The location of that is probably more familiar as across the street from
Dick and Ellie's Flea Market where they sell the sheds. He believed it
would be mutually beneficial to both of them. They believe that there is a
need to serve the public for inexpensive hot dogs during the summertime.
4
