Mr. Santos made a motion to approve the request for temporary food
permits for the pow-wow for, A) Rhoda Fernandes and Corinne Moore; B)
Jerry Hicks; C) Glenn Marshall and Sean Hendricks; D) Veronica and
Crystal Perry; E) Vanessa Mendes; F) Milton W. Frye, Jr.; G) Paul Averett;
H) Mashpee VFW Post. Ms. Grady seconded the motion. Motion passed.
APPOINTMENT: Mashpee High School Boosters - Temporary Food Permit
David Nichols was present. He is the food and beverages director for the
Mashpee High School Boosters. He began by stating that "Doug" came by
earlier with a handout for Mr. Harrington. He stated that the only changes
are that there will not be coffee and donuts in the morning and no Hood
Ice Cream. They will have two locations. The main tent and a mobile
concession stand, "The Flying Falcon" at hole number two as they did last
year. The only change in the diagram will be that the Coke truck will move
approximately 30' to the left so that the Kayem Hot Dog food vendor
serving for the Mashpee Booster will be located in that area. The entire
proceeds will be going to the Boosters. They are self-contained and will
hold their own with the BOH as far as permitting goes.
Mr. Harrington replied that they were going to determine that tonight
since they have submitted their own request for a permit.
Mr. Nichols has asked them to submit a permit. He asked Mr. Harrington if
the fee would be waived since they were working for the Boosters.
Mr. Harrington replied that that was correct as long as their proceeds
were going to the Boosters.
Mr. Nichols continued by stating that it was a pretty simple affair this
year. It was going to be hamburgers and hot dogs. The hamburgers are
frozen patties from McDonalds encased and pre-packaged. The hot dogs
are coming from Kayem. They steam their hot dogs. The Boosters cook
theirs on the two grills and in the Flying Falcon grill top. The grills will be
placed three feet out side of the main tent area per fire regulations. Mr.
Santos will be present for the person with the ServSafe certification. They
were hoping that this would be the last year for the Flying Falcon. They
are hoping to replace it with a newer unit. He asked if there were any
questions. They have water and electricity on site. They have serving
gloves and sanitary solution. They have three people on the Boosters who
are certified and one inside.
Ms. Grady made a motion to approve the request for a temporary food
permit for both the Mashpee High School Boosters and Kayem Foods with
a waiver of the fee as a non-profit. Mr. Ball seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
3
