what you are being requested to do here tonight. He just wanted them to
keep that in mind as far as where these things could be set up and how
many could be set up. If they allowed one there would undoubtedly be
many to follow. That was one of the precautions that they went through in
Barnstable when he was there. Mr. Wells has a nice set up. It is all
stainless steel. But, again it has a larger picture to than allowing one
person to do it.
Mr. Wells countered that he would like to certainly recognize all that. He
mentioned earlier that he was hoping to get in under the radar if he was
just there five days a week, not more than fourteen. That was a semantic
issue rather than anything else. He was also aware that there were vendor
carts in Mashpee Commons in previous years. He wasn't sure if that was
before the change in the bylaws. He would also like to say for his benefit
that he also had a concession for Main Street events in Hyannis. This is
the first year that they have allowed food vendors on Main Street in
Hyannis. So every Thursday night throughout the summer and some
selected Sundays he would be participating with his cart in those events.
Mr. Ball asked if the Boosters were a vendor. That is selling food?
Mr. Harrington agreed. But, they were not set up in any one permanent
place for more than 14 days. They do specific events.
Mr. Santos continued that was an enclosed trailer with a floor, roof and
ventilation.
Mr. Ball continued by stating that he was only going for five days. Right?
Mr. Harrington replied that it was more than fourteen in the same location.
Ultimately it should be a permanent location.
Mr. Santos replied that there have been carts at the Commons for single
event functions such as Oktoberfest, Daffodil Days, etc.
Mr. Wells stated that he would be attending those events, too. He knew
that this request would push the envelope a little bit. However, he was
hoping for a positive response if possible.
Mr. Harrington stated that he started this position in September.
Therefore, he was unaware of there being carts in Mashpee Commons. He
was hoping that someone could explain that to him. Ms. Warden might
know more about that.
Mr. Santos responded that he wasn't sure if there were any actual "carts"
6
