i Mr, Harrington stated that they are in Popponnesset and there shouldn't be any wells. Mr. Ball made a motion to approve the variances requested by David sanicki of cape & Islands Engineering. The variances are as follows: The SAS to the street Property line will be zero feet. The SAS to the cellar wall will be three feet. The bottom of the SAS to high groundwater will be one foot* This was also approved with the addition of an outside liner on the cellar wall and a foundation sealer. Ms. Grady seconded the motion, !Motion passed* 11. Re-approval for I/A System ( - 6 Route 28 Santult Inn: Mr. Harrington began by stating that the Santuit Inn is over 600 CPD. This is a failed system, The owner approached the BOH to have the system designed. He also made them aware that because they were over the 600 GPD that if they were ever going to sell the property they would have to install a denitrification system* Mr. Doyle of Doyle Associates first came in and presented a plan with the fast system for_the sane number of bedrooms and the same type of set up. The first time that he cane in he had the FAST system approved and also had the reserve area built out at the same time. He wanted to see if he could obtain a variance to avoid the 600 GPD requirement. The BOH refused his request because he was within the Popponnesset recharge area. What he had suggested to the Bpi at that point, because it was a remedial situation, the BOH allow therm the % reduction, which they are allowed because of the innovative alternative system and also grant the variance to not install the reserve area. His basis for that was because they were producing a much higher quality effluent. The leaching should work better, You have much reduced total suspended solids. Your nitrogen is already removed to a point. The existing well in the property was evaluated for future use as the sampling point to meet the regulation as far as the total nitrogen requirement, All of that was in place. He didn"t know ghat the problem was with the FAST system. The owner contacted Chris Costa to switch over to the re-circulating sand filter. That is the request before the BOH. He has reviewed the plan and the monitoring requirements, It is all pretty much standard. Mr. Santos asked if this was the property that had the well they were using for sampling. Mr, Harrington stated that that was correct. The well was their potable well for a long time. The sampling of that well where they were using it as a Potable well newer showed nitrates above 3 PP M.
