Mr. Ball shoved Ills. Grady where Mr. Santos read from and that he had
included "bars' in his motion. That was where he had a problem. Was she
going to add to that by including "town property"?
Ms. Grady responded that she was going to second the motion that Mr.
Santos made and then go to the inclusion of torn property. she then
seconded Mr. Santos motion. They were both in favor. Mr. Ball was in
opposition to the notion.
IIs. Grady then made a motion to include in the original motion; all torn
owned, operated and leased or occupied grounds excluding public
beaches,
Mr, Greene interrupted the process and stated that he did not see the
consistency in their thought process. He felt that they were taking
cigarettes away from the adult population and then subjected children to
there at the beach, You can take them to the beach. But, not outside of
the town building where the workers are mainly over 21 years of age*
But, they can go to the beach.
Mr. Ball seconded Ms. Grady's motion. They were both in favor. Mr.
Santos was in opposition to the motion.
Mr. Santos continued with section V were smoking was permitted.
"Outdoor seating areas at food service establishments provided that such
an outdoor area is not enclosed except for one side, which adjoins the
establishment and the smoking section of the outdoor seating area shall
not be located within 101 any doorway, any mechanical ventilation intake
fixture and/or window of the establishment." He felt that this brought
them back to the ban of smoking in the public parking area at town hall.
They were applying a smoking ban to all the town building, bars and
restaurants, which he was 100% for. But, now if he gets through eating at
Dino's, They leave Dino's and as soon as he gets out the door he can light
up and walk across the parking lot. But, he couldn't do that here at town
hall.
Ms, Warden advised Mr. Santos that it was private property.
Mr. Santos asked if they were in agreement on the issue of outdoor
seating areas.
Ills. Grady stated that she took the way the word "mechanical'. couldn't
you have intake fixtures that are not mechanically operated?
Mr. Darrington replied that that was fine.
1
