{
Mr. Ball asked Mr. Harrington if it wouldn't be easier to do A, B, or C.
Mr. Harrington agreed that that would be okay.
IVIS. Grady stated 'I " would describe, "enclosed".
MIs. Warden asked what A, B and c would be by definition.
Ms. arrdn stated that Mrs Harrington was trying to write therm up.
Mr. Harrington stated that there were a few options for how "enclosed"
can be defined; it was important that when you are talking about an
outside area and an outside area then becomes totally enclosed when it
has three sides to it and the fourth side is attached to the building.
Mrs IVlitrokostas stated that they have awnings and it is net a permanent
structured
Mr. Harrington stated that that was what they wanted to.define as far as
what was enclosed. They lose the ability to have airflow within an
enclosure*
Mr. Santos'went on to section V "smoking Permitted". They went to +
exhibit A, i can't understand what he is saying* Then he asks Mr. Ball if
he was okay with Number Two. He moved on to discuss anything with B, c
or D hotels and long term nursing facilities. He moved on to the 11posting
section. Next was section 1111 "violations and penalties". He felt that that
was pretty straightforward. The first offense for each person wound be a
$50.00 offense* He thought that everyone was in agreement with that. Mr.
Harrington had a portion of the regulation in hold print. He asked him to
explain it. "A tine of up to $200.00 for each clay of non-compliance." Mr.
Santos asked if this was for not having the proper signage*
Mr. Harrington responded that this was pert of their existing regulation
right now that goes right to a $200.00 fine. When IVIS. Grady wrote the
draft of the regulations other portions of other towns had gone to 100.00,
$200,00 and $300-sOO thereafter. He was just wondering where the existing
regulation goes right to a $200-00 fine. He was just clarifying how you
wanted this to read.
Ms. Grady stated that Boston just adopted $500.00 and then $1000.00*
Ms. Warden felt that that was probably because everyone was ignoring it.
Mr. Ball asked what the other board members wanted to do. Did they want
,1
30
r
