I
I
1
(Mr. Ball wanted to take a certain section of the sale of tobacco regulation
away. Unfortunately the tape was being turned over and I missed the
actual section he was referring too.
Mr. Santos agreed with the paragraph however he would take out the buy
one get one free and two for the price of one sentence. That would keep
them from having promotions, The cigarette-manufacturers have
promotions#
Mr.
Ball asked Mr. Santos to clarify that in paragraph " ghat he wanted
done.
Mr. Santos suggested that they keep the rest of the paragraph and keep
the rest of the paragraph.
Ir. Harrington stated that the last sentence of "C" says that at no time
shall the retail price of any tobacco product be set below the state. The
Massachusetts minimum price standard. This prevents therm from giving
something away for free. They were now contradicting your own
regulation by allowing giveaways, Mr. Harrington re-iterated that they
were definitely taking out the sentence that begins with "This includes
such initiatives..." He then asked if they were all set with B possession
prohibited by a minor.
Mr. Santos moved on with the discussion of the regulation.
Mr. Ball stated that he needed explanations because he needed this
section of variances so that they could grant variances. He felt that if they
granted the variance to someone that they mould have to go through the
board of appeals too for ventilation issues.
Ms, Grady stated that they do not have any ventilation plansm
Mr. Wooiridge stated that if they were banning smoking in all internal
structures the variances would only apply to the outside of the buiidingse
Mr. Harrington stated that it would have to do with the building code
itself. They are automatically making an assumption that there would
have to be a variance granted by the board of appeals is his interpretation
of the regulations
Mr. Santos asked if this had been imported from smother town. This could
be construed if somebody was going along with a separate ventilation
system and had nothing to do with this regulation. He felt that they should
]I _
cross out that whole sentence.
35 xY.
