f '
Ir. Santos asked ghat the percentage of the department was mandated
by state law. Was it %9 80% or 100%? Isn't everything that they do out
of this office is mandated? Mr, Santos point was that everything within the
department's budget is part of the state mandated services.
Mr. Darrington confirmed that the majority it not all of the services
provided by the department are state mandated.
Ms. Grady suggested that they compare it to special education. special
education is mandated and they never out any of it.
(
► conversation ensued regarding what were-state mandated services.)
Mr. Harrington agreed with this argument. lois problem is that they should
not hold thein to the dollar* They should give the board some breathing
room* That was basically ghat he said. He would like one of the board
j members to attend the meeting, The department vehicle hes had very
little maintenance. They were asking for a neer vehicle but there has been
very little justification for it.
(Another conversation ensued regarding the shape of the department car.) y
Mr. Harrington felt that if they could let the car be the department
budgetary cut and leave them alone otherwise, He would be happy with
that and survive with that vehicle for another year. µ.
Mr. Ball made a motion to approve the budget as presented. Ms. Grady
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Being no farther business Mr. Ball oracle a notion to adjourn the meeting
at 10:25 PNI. Ilse Grady seconded the motion. Meeting adjournedip
Respectfull brei#ted b ,
charl ron, dinistrative secretary
48 Y4
