1
TOWN of IVIASHPEE
BOARD of HEALTH
January "', 2003
5
THE TAPE Is NOT PART OF THE MEETING: IT Is FOR THE PURPOSE of
TRANSCRIPTION OI LY.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:1T: L. Glenn Santos, Steven R. Ball, MaryRose Grady,
Glen E. Harrington, Veronica A warden.
NEW BUSINESS
1, Sian Warrants,
Warrants signed.
. Approve Minutes of December ". 2002.
Mr, Ball made a motion to approve the minutes with the condition that the
date is confirmed as correct. IVIS. Grady seconded the motion. The notion
passed. (The minutes were checked and the date was corrected to
October 17th, 2002.) IVIr. Santos abstained, as he was not present at that
meeting.
. Review of calendar Year 2003 Fee schedule
IVIr, pantos stated that they had discussed this at the last meeting. But,
since Mr. Ball wasn't present they decided to continue the next meeting.
He also had question for Mr. Harrington on the housing inspection fee, The
initial inspection is $50,,00*g the re-inspection was $15.00?
Mr. Harrington replied that for follow-up to see If the corrections have
been made. They would charge for that. As far as he is concerned,
housing inspections where they get complaints from tenants is a service
they should offer without cost, They are the enforcement authority for the
sanitary code. That was his own opinion. If the board members wanted to
Keep that at $50,00 to go out on a complaint. They could do that, They
certainly charge for other permit fees and other normal state required
inspections. But, his own feeling Is that they shouldn't be charging people
for a service that they should offer.
Nis. Grady asked if that was what he was talking about an initial
inspection that is on a complaint.
Mr. Harrington stated that this was in Dere. This asn"t his doing. This fee
