Mr, Ball interrupted and stated to cut through the entire chase Mr. <br /> Anderson was asking for a variance from Section X Ell to change the <br /> wording. <br /> Mr. Anderson responded if the board was not going to change the wording <br /> of the section. He would ask for a variance from section X El so that he <br /> might continue to sell hand rolled tobacco products as singles, He would <br /> like to clarify that he was net looking to sell single cigarettes because h <br /> was not. <br /> Mr. Ball continued by stating that he was looking for a variance from <br /> Section if 'IE to change... <br /> Mr. Anderson interjected that he wanted to be able to allow people under <br /> the age of 1to handle and sell tobacco products. <br /> Mr, Santos stated that he knew the initial intent for the "singles" was for <br /> cigarettes. He didn"t consider a cigar a "single' because you usually buy <br /> single cigars. cigarettes conte in a package, You can't go buy one cigar. <br /> Nis. Grady asked if each cigar individually wrapped. <br /> Mr. Anderson responded that they were each individually wrapped. <br /> Mr. Santos re-iterated that that was not the intent of the section. <br /> Mr. Anderson stated that the industry is involved and they have all given <br /> their opinion on this matter for years. <br /> Mr. Santos added that he liked his cigars but a lot of times he didn't have <br /> 150.00 to buy a box. He was cheap and would go down and buy a couple. <br /> Mr. Anderson re-iterated than it was the board of health whether they <br /> want g cigars sold singly or not. <br /> Ms. Grady asked again if they were all individually wrapped. <br /> Mr, Anderson ire-iterated that they were all individually wrapped, <br /> Mr. Ball interjected that if that was what he was asking for he didn't have <br /> a problem with the motion to grant that variance. 1t all depends on who <br /> reads that particular section of the regulation. <br /> IVIS.
