1 y
1
T
P
Mr. Ball understood that point. However, his point was for example, say he
was in house number 114. That well had been there for eons* Now the
BOH was going to make him hook tate town water at his expense when
there was no problem with the well.
Mr., Harrington interjected that they were all going to have that problem
when their septic systems fall. That was why the board had to understand
that they were all going to have to do it at some point in time, They aright
s well tell therm that when water comes in they would have to connect
up to water now.
Mr. Ball noted that they had not done that before.
Mr. McEntee suggested that they should have the wells sampled to
determine if there were any contaminants. That was the best way to do.
Ms. Grady added that in other instances when people are advised that
there may beonta minants. They were not charged the betterment.fee.
The government, such as what happened at Briarood or saddleback
Road, would cover the cost. They were told that they had to hook up to 4
town water. For the board to tell them that they had to connect because it
was in their best interest it was still difficult.
Mr. Ball re-iterated that because of this let you are forcing these people to
connect. He added that in-conjunction with IVIS. rady's point, if this was
the government the applicant would have to pay for all of the connections.
IIIb. Harrington added that even if it was currently not so much in their
best interest they would be required to do it at some point too. They
would like to get everybody to do it at the same time. If they sent out a
letter advising them that all of their wells and septic systems were less
than 1001 away from one another. Therefore, there was the real potential
k
for future problems and they may have already had problems with the
quality of their well garter* it would be amazing that they didn't all have
some type sickness from living within each others' setbacks they way
that they have been.
IVIr. Ball felt that that fact alone inferred to him that there was nothing
wrong, He would like to have an opening hearing on this matter, He
wanted to hear from the abutters. This was the first time that they had
i ever done that.
Ms. Grady was in agreement with Mr. Ball. she felt than they were opening
a can of worms.
^r
