r
IVIS. Warden noted that they have submitted all their work in a prompt
manner.,
Ms, Grady noted that you don't get any hassle from upstairs because you
got the three bids and they came in the lowest,
Mr. Ball made a motion to accept the Woodard & currant contract as the
engineer consultant for the post-closure monitoring of the landfill for the
fiscal year 2004. Ms, Grady seconded the motion. Motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS
. BOH'Regulations Review
Mr, Harrington apologized to the board but he did not have anything
prepped for the meeting.
Mr. Ball noted that thatwasn't a problem*
B, Deer crossing Commercial Properties- Update on Private WWTP
Connection or on-site Desit
Mr. sanicki began by stating that they did investigate and were strongly
going for the FAST system. Then the idea from Tom Fudala, town planner,
came up to tie into Mashpee Commons treatment system, The price to tie
into the system was $30.00 per gallon. Now that was 10,000 gallons or
$300,000,00, That was just the privilege to tie in. Then the fee that was
quoted to hint was $ ,go per gallon per year service fee for the septic
system. Now to get there to tie in the system, They would have to put in a
force main because the Commons system was higher than Deer crossing.
This would problem cost another$300,000,00, Thea Mr. Mike McGrath and
Davits Newton approached them. They have partnered together to develop
a new innovative system that has provisional approval from the state.
This was not a RUCK system. it was an "OAR" system. Basically, he has
two tanks between the septic and the leaching meets 180 differential to
do a retrofit on the system. They fool around with a lot of bacteria and
charge. But, the other thing with this that he kind of liked it in a way was
that it ate up grease. These systems that they are looking at are tied to
the restaurants. They do have grease traps. Crease is our worst enemy in
his opinion. It gets into the system* He had the septic systems inspected
at the change of sale. That indicated that the system was not in failure*
He was looking heavily towards this new design.
C. Mowing at the Landfill
Mr, Darrington noted that the contract states that he was supposed to get
out and cut around the stacks. He hasn"t doge that. He went by the other
day. They were furry* They were all overgrown.
13
