r
other legal notification, She confirmed what he found out from Lyootton
Environmental who was the consulting firm that New Seabury used,.
Mr. Ball asked if there was a local by-lava notification.
Mr. Harrington responded that there was none. There are herbicide
regulations for right of ways. it is not for use-of-water. It is for use of
distances from wetland areas, it didn't specifically include algaecides for
algae or problem plantse He just wanted to make them aware that that
was done.
IVH Grady asked if he was going to put a letter together to Conservation
requesting that they do notify the board in the future,
Mr. Harrington agreed that that was the plan, So they could review the
MSDs' to know what was in it. Again they do not know if there were any
problems with the bathing beaches. They should know what was going on
in the pond.
C. FYI - Dr. Lewis Mantel
Mr. Harrington noted that Dr, Lewis Mantel who lives on Monomoscoy
Road has offered to help the board look at the board's syringe disposal _
program. He was going to volunteer some time, He was admiral in the
Navy and has a masters in public health. The man is a sharp individual. H
has a medical license in both Massachusetts and Florida. He has offered
to help us get some information on getting the syringe disposal program
going. Mr. Harrington wanted to bring to their attention in order to get
their blessing to have hien act as an agent of the board. He was going to
go and talk to the pharmacies and find out the enact volume of the people
who use syringes, talk to some of the disposal companies and just start to
pick the ball up a little bit and continue to find out where this might b
headed. For example, he is working on determining if there is a town
facility that might be able to help. He is on the LEPC and the disaster
mitigation team that was being formed here in the town., He kind of know
all of the major players already. He was going to talk to the other
departments and try to get therm to cooperate a little bit on setting up a
program.
Ms. Grady asked if he lured in IVlashpee.
Mr. Harrington re-iterated that he lived on Monomosco . diewasn't a
furlltime resident yet. He still has property off-Cape, He lives in Florida and
another property off-Cape, which he thought he was going to sell and thea
come down here for at least nine months of the year. While he is here h
has to get out of the house and do something. The guy is just a go-getter
