states standards. It was significant for what they were dealing with.
Mr. Santos asked what the effluent was coming out these units. Where
they NDS...
Mr, Carson replied that the effluent coming out after treatment would be
non-detect, The re-build included adding one additional carbon pact. It
was actually going through three carbon vessels. Face's policy since they
have been doing these systems has been to discharge wafer that has
absolutely nothing in it that can't be detected. It continues to be their
policy.
Mr. Harrington asked what their overall time for expected cleanup for that
area and long team prospect for clean up.
Mr. Carson replied that it was expected to take longer that ten year and
less than twenty. The number was around 17 years. But, as with any
system it could be shorter or longer. They would be speaking about SD5 in
a minute, which is a very good success story in getting it to where it i
today so quickly.
Mr. Harrington asked what the dept of this plume was today below
ground.
Mr. Carson replied that it was fairly deep, The cross section is a big
chunk, which goes down basically to the bottom of the aquifer. Up in this
particular source area. It is very deep with a lot of cleanwater sitting on
top of the plume with no threat to any residential or shallow well users in
that area. It continues to be very deep as you head further south. It's
down there but it is not in the shallow part of the aquifer.
Nis. Warden asked with the extraction wells, the deep yells, would they
be providing the board with quarterly results.
Mr. Carson responded that they wouldn't be reporting on these wells. The
report that they submit to the board regarding the residential well
sampling program, which includes the home on Ashumet Load. They
detail all of the analytical data from going on the sampling throughout the
year before and after the system is running. That's dome for an annual
report that was published for a month even year, They will have an
annual report made available to the board. It was also available on the
website.
Mr. Darrington thought that the board had already been receiving this
report.
1
