Mr. Harrington noted that he had called. But, it was the day that they had
re-scheduled. He did know about the re-scheduled hearing. He was a bit
surprised that he wasn't here. He didn't have a chance to talk to Mr. Dice
after he determined that there was a difference. He needed to clarify that
point. if Mr. Dice had appeared tonight he could have cleared up the
matter with one question. If the machines were the same machines a
when they originally opened in 1994, They may not need to be tested. H
just needed to clarify that point.
I
I
B. Soft Serve Ice Cream Permit Fee
Mr. Harrington wanted to recommend to the board that they include with
the 2004 fee schedule. He recommended a $30nOO fee. The board of health
is charged with licensing soft serve or manufacturing of ice cream
through the state regulation whether it is hard ice cream if it is
manufactured or the soft serve ice cream. There were two in town, one at
the Inside Scoop. Ultimately, it may not meet the requirement. But, there
was one other place in town, the IVlashpee Deli. He has therm, but he had
not pat them into operation yet,, He would like to have this in the fee
schedule. They would have to take the time to license there and review
the analysis when It came in, along with the enforcement If the coliforms
were above a certain level. The $30.00 fee was reasonable.
Mr. Santos made a motion to approve the additional of a $30.00 fee to the
2004 Fee Schedule for the permitting of soft serge ice cream and
manufacturing of ice cream. Ms. Grady seconded the motion. Motion
passed.
C. Flu clinics October 21111, 2003
Mr. Harrington advised the board that they had a flu clinic that service
462 seniors. They did 320 on the first clinic last year, They had quite a
few more this time.
IIs. Grady asked if they had plenty of vaccine.
Mr. Harrington responded that they were very fortunate to get all of their
allotment up front, They had some left over and they would be conducting
another one on November 17, 2003. It was for 65 years old and over. They
were still looking for people to bring their Medicare cards. Medicare B
was reimbursing the 1 NA for their services, which reduces the VNA
charges.
Being no further business Niro Santos made a motion to adjourn at 7:45
PM, Ms. Grady seconded the motion.
