grant funds also. It was basically a letter of support for the town of
lashpee to be involved with that group,
Ms. Grady had a question regarding the wording of the letter. We the
board of health for the town of Mashpee, submit this letter of intent along
with letters from m colleagues;" If it was the board of health, it shouldn't
be ray colleagues, right?
Ms. Warden stated that because all of their colleagues were all of the
boards of health within the regional coalitionM
ICAs. Grady re-iterated that this was not letters from "ours' colleagues.
Ms. Warden stated that Mrs O'Brien put the letter together and IVIr.
Harrington wasn't happy with it either,
IVIS. Grady continued by stating that the very last sentence "Please
address any questions or concerns about his letter Glen Harrington..."
IVIs. Warden stated that she could just pull up word in the computer and fix
the letter before the meeting was over,
Mr. Harrington felt that they wanted to be involved with this because the
first disbursement was $780,000.00. They wanted to be a part of this so
that they could get the training for it.
Dr, Lewis Mantel interjected that this was a result of the state of
Massachusetts being told that they were going to lose the money under
the public hearth grant for training.
Mr. Santos stated that this was also why a lot of the towns were
i
scrambling to have an emergency preparedness plan because if they have
major catastrophe in town without a plan in place. The state could come
in and fine them for not having it.
Dr. Mantel stated that that was why he had been working with Mr. John
Lees at the police department to put together this plan two weeks ago.
The state had threatened to take away the grant money they had already
received. Each department had been asked to give their own
implementation plan.
The corrected letter was reviewed and signed by the board members that
were present.
4. House condemnation - 252 Wheeler Road
2
