k
us because it had been in the reports for two years. But, noir they could
put some numbers to it. They also requested that Woodard and Curran
Nook into reducing the monitoring. Mr. St. Michel stated that he faxed
down the plan. But, no one had seen it. Mr. St. Michel stated that he would
reduce the amount of wells and the test parameters. The DEP will net
change the gas monitoring. They won't go any less than quarterly on the
gas monitoring. He asked if they could loos[ into reducing the amount of
wells. They could do that but the overall monitoring of there would be no
less than quarterly.
Ms. Grady thought that they were led to believe that they were going to
reduce it to bi-annually.
Mr. Harrington thought that they were doing bi-annually for groundwater
and maybe reduce the amount of wells and.the parameters. He wanted to
drop metals and Hoc's from being done because they were two big hits as
far as amount of money. They were both expensive.
Ms. Grady wanted to know what they were going to monitor for.
Mr. Harrington stated that there were a whole slew of things to monitor
for.
i
' s. Grady felt that those were really big things to leave out.
Mr. Harrington stated that they would be hoc's in the surface water. Mr.
St. Michel stated that if it was not in the groundwater under the landfill. It
would not be in the surface waters He was going to reduce the surface
water sampling, which made sense. He would stili be checking hoc's in
the others.
4 Ms. Grady was more comfortable with this.
D. Rabies
Mr. Harrington stated that because of the two hits on rabies for the cape.
Mr. O'Brien from the county-was not the spokesperson. But, he was taking
the lead for the rabies task force. He asked hire to write the letter
explaining Tufts University plan to come into Mashpee as part of the
baiting program. What he would like to request from the beard endorse
i this plan with a secondary letter that would go to the selectmen. He felt
j that they needed to know this information because the Mashpee PD
needed to be notified that cars were going to be going slow through the
i
neighborhoods throwing the baits out. Police had been pulling people
over. The safety of the vaccine will also be explained in the Tufts
University information If the pets get it. It won't harm there. That stuff
19
