■
t
was a -hour weeklong course. The one at the Ohashi institute offers
was (Borne type of program that 1 could not understand.) which, did not
meet her needs. -
Nis. Warden stated that they were confused because normally they
receive a transcript that lists 400 or 500 hours. she had "Beginners I" and
"Beginners 11".
Ms. Levin responded that shiatsu was ,
different. They ddn t deal with
muscles. They work on energy paths. They have to learn all of the
acupuncture points.
Mr. Harrington interjected and stated that there is usually a statement of
hours with each of the classes taken, That was how they determined
here were 500 or 600 hours of training.
Nis. Levin stated that this was how they wrote it Grp at that time. she
didn't know if it was different now. You did not need a massage license to
do it in New fork. They might need to know muscle insertion
points. But,, they were not working on the same areas. They were working
on energy paths that run through the body that acupuncturist will find, It
was really quite different type of bodywork. Again, as they could
determine through her letter she was the only massage therapist at the
Falmouth Hospital. They had gone through her training and it met all of
their needs. she was licensed in Falmouth and in Bourne. All she could
say was that it was a different type of education. One of the last courses
she took was a month lon g stay at a Zen monastery and worked all day
and night,
Mr. Harrington asked if there was anything that the Ohashi Institute
offered that explained more of the curriculum and the curriculum hours as
far as the beginning and intermediate classes that she took.
Nis. Leven was not sure but she could find out.
Mr. Harrington stated that he did not have time to go on line to see if they
had any website information.
Nis. Levin stated that she knew that they had a description of the courses.
She was unsure if they had the amount of hours listed. she hadn't needed
that information. so she did not know.
Nis. Warden stated that they were at a little bit of a loss here because she
18
