Mr. Grotzke began that this was small building on a fairly small lot. The <br /> • Conservation Commission had reviewed and approved the plans already. <br /> They were currently before the ZEA. Before they actually finished their <br /> process with the ZBA they wanted to have a.final review and approval <br /> with this board. The septic system history was different than what they <br /> had thought. They had looked at the earlier design plans and thought it <br /> was leaching chambers. When they had the septic system inspected it <br /> was totally different than the design plan. Plus, the system had failed <br /> based on the camera observation. They did locate the ends of the pipes so <br /> that they knew where the locations where so that they had more <br /> information rather than strictly using this camera, which had not had an <br /> experience with that type of inspection. He felt ambivalent about their <br /> use of the cameras solely to serve as a sole means to determine a system <br /> failure. He felt that the system no matter how they look at it was certainly <br /> sub-standard and not what was intended for the property. It certainly <br /> wouldn't work for the betterment of the house as it stands. They had <br /> intended from the onset was to create a new Title V system with the UV <br /> unit. He needed to work on the issue of the number of bedrooms. <br /> Mr. Ball asked if the number of bedrooms was three or four. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that the number of bedrooms was still and issue and <br /> • as far as the board was concerned it was three. This was new <br /> construction with it being shown as an existing four-bedroom. This was <br /> not an existing four-bedroom dwelling. <br /> Mr. Grotzke felt that there was a discrepancy between the original design <br /> permit. He didn't have his file with him. He believed that the original <br /> permit showed it to be a three-bedroom. <br /> Mr. Harrington interjected that the floor plans showed it as a three- <br /> bedroom. <br /> Mr. Ball asked if it was in a Zone 11. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that it was not in a Zone 11. <br /> Mr. Grotzke continued by stating that it was his intention to design a , <br /> septic system to reflect the use of the house. It was not his intent to <br /> increase the number of bedrooms as it currently stands rather to increase <br /> the space and/or add a garage to the front of the house. The garage was <br /> within the 50' setback to the wetlands. The garage itself as an addition <br /> did not impact the system. The system would want to be placed as far <br /> away as possible from the wetlands. As they design the system here it <br /> • was further away from the wetlands as compared to the existing failed <br /> 27 <br />
