t
inspected their program. She gave the department flying colors. She
mentioned her concerns to her. She asked her if the state was overseeing
if and she said no. She just wanted to through that in.
Mr. Darrington continued by stating that the FDA has best management
practices, which then the state and locals can be stricter on. That was
basically what the pharmacy guidelines were. There were no teeth to
these because there was no enforcement of these guidelines; He
supposed that the license beard could probably say something if they
didn't go along with it. As far as he could see there was no real oversight
to it either. Ms. Warden saw no real oversight to it on the individual
boards.
Ms. warden stated that when she mentioned the use of a thermometer,
They told her that was a good idea.
Ms. Grady didn't understand that. In the hospital even single floor that
had medicine on it...
Mr. Harrington interjected that a different faction governed therm.
Ms. Grady countered by stating that even though it was a pharmacy.
Mr. Harrington stated that hospitals and clinics were governed by
different part of the state. These were the people he talked to first. The
pharmacies were set alone.
Ms. Warden thought that they probably wouldn't want the board stepping
on their turf. They were more interested in them taking care of medication
and keeping it at proper storage temperatures. Plus, if anything was
expired it should be kept separate and not in the refrigerated area, She
went through this and picked up some blurbs. The last paragraph she did
herself. They just had a small blurb on it and she extended it. She had
spoken to Mr. Harrington and they wanted a liquid thermometer. They
didn't want one of those cheap thermometers.
Mr. Harrington stated that they didn't say what type of thermometer to put
in. But, the immunization group requires a specific type of thermometer
and medication should be no different.
Mr. Santos felt that it was for their own protection too especially if the
medicine temperature sensitive.
Ms. Warden is very concerned for the children. All that stuff usually had to
be refrigerated. They just have no care whatsoever.
12
