a
C
Mr. Santos suggested that before they moved this alongwith the board. Why did it
y
take a certified letter?
Mr. McNulty did not have a certified letter. He requested to be here.
Mr. Harrington confirmed that. F
Mr. Santos asked if he understood the time lines. Wasn't he supposed to be here a
month ago?
Mr. Harrington stated that the installation was supposed to start in mid-September.
They did not send him a letter to be here. They had spoken about this last week
because he had just reviewed and had consents on the plan.
Ms. Warden added than she had taken the phone call from Mr. McNulty.
Mr. McNulty stand that as soon as he was behind on putting the thing in and up to
the last moment exploring every avenue. He had spoken to banks and every financial
institution including American Express for goodness sakes to tale a lien against the
business to try and get it in the ground. He just couldn't get the funds. As soon as he
knew this was the ease he called the board himself and requested to be at-the
meeting so that he could Borne to them and ask for the extension so that he could
somehow find the fnds to make this happen.
Mr. Santos' recommendation was to deny the request for an extension. If the system
could not be put in thea he couldn't be in operation. That was his feeling on this
matter. They had done extensions in the past with new systems or Bost on the
ground. They have never had anyone present the hoard with this reason.
Mr. McNulty stated that he was trying to be honest with the hoard.
IIIc. Santos appreciated his effort. But, the last thing he wanted to do was tog et into .
a debate with him about his finances. He thought it was totally inappropriate from
his standpoint. He just didn't think this was an acceptable excuse or reason.
Mr. McNulty stated that The Flume was a Mashpee institution for 30 year and he
was trying to save the bloody thing. In trying to turn it around, because it vias i
such a state of disrepair they had invested a ton of time and money to this thing. He
was hoping that they could be kind of understanding of that and give him the twelve
months. He wanted to be in compliance. He paid fr the plans for it to be done. If he
had no intention of doing the system he never would have done that.
} Ms.. ra y asked if the system was working appropriately now.
Mr. Harrington stated that they had a fully compliant Title V system that was there
21
