TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH — PUBLIC MEETING <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of Thursday, September 22, 2006 <br /> Board Attendees: Also Attending: <br /> Glean Santos, Chairman Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br /> Steven Ball, Co-Chairman Veronica Warden,Assistant Health Agent <br /> Absent: <br /> Lucy Burton, Cleric <br /> Chairman Glean Santos called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> TS <br /> Atlantic Waste Systems North—show cause Hearing <br /> William Robinson, General Manager of Waste Management, introduced himself to the Board. <br /> Glen Harrington commented on the situation. On Sept. 8, 2005, Catherine Laurent, Assistant Director <br /> for the l ashpee DPW notified the BOH that Atlantic Waste Systems forth was disposing of Mashpee <br /> refuse at the Bourne Landfill. This is in direct violation of the Mashp BOH "Refuse Regulation'" <br /> which states that all maulers licensed by the BOH in Ilashpee must transport their refuse loads to the <br /> Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station, a BOH-approved site or other facility approved by the BOH <br /> arid, in the case of the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station, must follow the route specified in the <br /> j Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station rales and regulations. Therefore, the B H issued ars order to <br /> Mr. Robinson on to appear before the BOH on 9122/05 to"show cause"as to why Atlantic Waste <br /> Systems failed to comply with the Mashpee BOH "Refuse Regulation". <br /> Mr. Robinson stated that he thought anything the DEP previously approved was okay, and that was <br /> his nnisunderstanding. Mr. Robinson further stated that, going forward, he vw ill send one truck for <br /> ll ashpee trash pickup, park it for the day, and send the truck to the Upper Cape Regional Transfer <br /> Station. He will put this plan in w6ting to the-Board of Health. <br /> Oak Hollow Condominium—Swimming Pool "'Show Cause Hearing"' <br /> Greg Smith, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oak Hollow Condominium Association, <br /> introduced himself to the Board. <br /> Glen H n ington commented that a fine had been levied for not being able to access the log sheen <br /> and the fine had been paid prior to July 1 . Veronica Warden made an inspection that day prior to <br /> opening the pool, and found further violations. Glen Harrington made an inspection on Sept. 6#h, and <br /> found the pool open, with the closed signs taken down. Thus, the Show Cause letter was sent out. <br /> Greg Smith reported that the Condominium Associaborn had fired the pool management company, <br /> having had many problems with the woman who had falsified the log.records. Oceanside will be <br /> handling the pool management next year. The pool is now closed and covered for the season. <br /> Veronica Warden suggested that prion to the pool opening next year, the Condominium Association <br /> contact the BOH to request an inspection, to keep the lines of communidation going. Glean Santos <br /> asked for a-copy of the contract with the new pool rnanagement company, with a contact name, and <br /> outlining what is covered, i.e., first-aid kits, etc. Glen Harrington asked that the Condominium <br /> Association pull the permit, not the First Property Management. <br /> Steven Ball made a motion to revoke the pool license for 2005 and that no new contract is approved <br /> until a copy of the contract with Oceansido is received, with the name of a contact at the <br /> 'I <br />
