ELI
f -- be requesting input from BOH on wham to do in those situations so that she can start the enforcement part
of the software program. If BOH gets the information to her up front, Sue can peat all ourviolation
timelines in, and the system will be in place for I lashpee BOH.
Blue Ribbon Committee Report—Glenn Santos
Glenn Santos reported on the first official Blue ribbon Committee meeting he attended. Dori Meyers is
chairman of the corp miftee, Chuckie Green is theco-chairman, and Doug Storrs is the Clerk. The task
given to the committee by the chairman is to revise the Ma tepee Comprehensive Plan. Committee
member Be ed Kane'made the observation that it took a private company gears to come up with the
Comprehensive Plan, therefore it may be difficult to revise the document in just 18 months.
All the committee members were given homework from Chairman Don Meyers as to revision ideas.
Glean Santos was tasked with the topics of hazardous waste and solid waste, and will confer with Glen
Harrington on the assignment.
Glean Santos was asked to report to the Blue Ribbon committee on BOH goals for the community. Glean'
stated that the BOH has been the most proactive of any town on the Cape to dome Grp with alternative
systems, citing the boo gallon per day regulation. 'Despite understaffing, the health agents are looking at
hazardous waste regulations, which is a critical concern to the ground water. What the BOH would lire to
get from the Blue Ribbon Commiftee is, with the help of Zoning and ZBA, the creation of regulations
which would assist the 8014 with the amount and proper handling of storage of hazardous waste. Glenn
stated that he would like to see use of more of ars organic compound on the ground soil, which will reduce
weed control and reduce the amount of water needed by 40%.
Glean Santos asked for any input from all BOH members re: items for discussion they would like to have
brought before the Blue Ribbon Committee. '
The next meeting of the BOH was scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2005, at 7,00 PM at the Board of
Health office.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Ina G.
