TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD.OF HEALTH <br /> KENNEL REGULATION ` <br /> Under-`the authority of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 111, section ;31, .the <br /> Mashpee Board"of Health hereby adopts the following regulations: <br /> SECTION I FINDINGS AND PURPOSE <br /> WHEREAS; An infrastructure is necessary to ensure animals originating from a given <br /> area are healthy,and free of communicable diseases;and <br /> WHEREAS, 16ininials are being `sold to individuals in other 'states and countries with <br /> abnormalities and without verifiable health certificates; and <br /> . WHEREAS; Immediate action is :required" to institute a sound animal management <br /> system'so that the risks of harin:'to the health and well being of animals as well as the <br /> human population can be protected; and. <br /> NOW THEREFORE; The.Mashpee Board of Health hereby adopts the following Kennel <br /> Regulation. _ <br /> SECTION 1 DEFINITIONS: <br /> Board of Health: Shall be hereinafter referred to as "the Board" <br /> Kennel: An establishment or dwelling maintained and/or advertised for the purpose of <br /> breeding, selling; or engaged in training dogs, boaiding dogs or,producing one or more <br /> litters pA <br /> er year, ' nd, further defined as any property in,whch more than three dogs <br /> reside. :" , <br /> Kennel License:` The licensing period shall be January 151 to December 31S` inclusive. <br /> The annual kennel license shall be issued through the Board of Health' office to a kennel <br /> which has demonstrated compliance with the requirements of this regulation. <br /> Owner. Any person possessing, harboring; keeping; having an interest in, or having <br /> control or custody of a dog or dogs and,in whose name the kennel license'is issued.=:Ifthe <br /> anim al is owned,by a person under.the age of eighteen (18) years of age, that person's <br /> _ custodial arents. or. le 'al ardian s shall be 'res onsible for coin 1 <br /> P g ( ) p p ying with all <br /> requirements of this regulation. , <br />
