i 1 TOWN OF MASHPEE I BOARD of HEALTH - PUBLIC MEETING Minutes of the Meeting of Wednesday, March 11, 2009 r Board Members Present: Members Absent: Also Present: Burton Kaplan, Co-Chairman Lucy Burton, Chairman Glen Harrington, Health Agent Ialliope Egloff, Clerk Co-chairman Burton Kaplan called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM. APPOINTMENTS- No appointments. NEW BUSINESS 1. sign Warrants. The Board members signed the warrants. . Approve Public session Minutes of February # 2009. A motion was ,Wade, seconded and passed to approve as corrected the ,minutes of the ,meeting of 2!26/03, 3. bequest for Review&Approval: Letter of Agreement with cape cod Medical Reserve corps (MRC) Glen Harrington stated that the MRC has created a formal letter of agreement, the purpose of which is to invite Mashpee to join a "community-based" program that will help build the Town of Mashpee into an emergency preparedness community.r. The letter i to acknowledge that the MRC shall cover Mashpee in the Cape Islands Health Agents Coalition (HAC). The letter states that it is expected that the Cape cad MRC will assist the Mashpee Board of Health by supporting MRC recruitment and continuation of pre- credentialed medical and non-medical volunteers who may be available for deployment to respond to public health events and emergencies in Mashpee. Kalliope Egloff,Wade a ,notion that the Board of Health approve the Ltter of Agreement rnrith Cape Cod Medical Reserve corps. Burton Kaplan seconded the ,notion. All approved. 4. - . eview of DraftRevisions: Smoking Regulation The Board members reviewed the revised draft of the Smoking Regulation, end offered additional changes to the document. Glen Harrington stated that he spoke to Joyce Mason n regarding the issue of the Town's liability under Workmen's Compensation, but to date has g g received back no additional information on the question. The Board will continue review of the Smoking Regulation draft at the net BOH meeting. . eq uest for Review and Approval of Kennet Application -225 Ashu et load Glen Harrington stated that the proposed kennel at 225 Ashumet Fd has not yet been constructed. The Board members agreed to defer approval of the kennel application until the Site Plan Review Committee has given its approval, and the kernel is constructed. Glen Harrington stated that because of the close proximity of the proposed kennel site to a school ground} there may be issues with abutters.
