Grants: Ann advised the meeting that she had submitted an application <br /> to the Mashpee Cultural Council to apply f or. a grant. Ann presented <br /> the proposal oii November 7, 1996. She believed there were twelve other ' <br /> proposals presented. Ann feels they will take the number of proposals <br /> and divide the total by the $3,500, their total amount available. <br /> Ann has requested $600.00 but felt 'they would' end up- with about $300.oo,, <br /> which would pay for the grant course. <br /> B. Stationery: Sampl.es of the historical commission's new stationery and <br /> business cards were passed around to the meeting for their approval. <br /> C. Update on the alarm system: Ann explained the operation of the new fare <br /> alarm -system and the recommended procedures to follow. <br /> D. Heritage Gape Cod geek: (Sunday. June 14th - ,June 21, 1997) The Mashpee <br /> Archives will have' ars open house Sunday, .June 21st, 1:00 P. M. to + P. -M. <br /> Ann read thein press release to the meeting. - She felt the H. . . would <br /> receive a great deal of publicity from this release. <br /> NEW BUSINESS, <br /> A. Volunteer: .JILM explained that- the historical commission- had a new <br /> volunteer, Jennie Morris, , rho has prior experience as a volunteer with <br /> the Council on Aging, .Jennie is a typist and has had a great deal of <br /> experience on computer records. She has been able to set aside s me time <br /> to ,work- at the Archives on Thursdays. <br /> Jim moved that Jemie Morris be accepted as a volunteer for the historical <br /> commission-. Ali. in furor. ' So moved. <br /> B. 1997 -Schedule: A tentative schedule for commissioner coverage of the <br /> Archives for Mondays and Thursdays had been prepared and was passed out <br /> to the meeting. <br /> Discussion followed. <br /> -. Museum Feasibility Study Committee: Discussion of the Ma hpee Wampan ag <br /> lndi n -Museum -Study and Proposal. <br /> D. Acquisitions: . Jean Thomas has offered a table which has been described <br /> as a cousin to the table here in the Ar hives that is labelled 1897. <br /> Jean Thomas wanted to know if the historical commission was interested <br /> in the table- as a donation, Put o a Grote before the Board, it was <br /> agreed that the historical_ commission was not interested in accepting <br /> the donation from dean Thomas. <br /> f. Mr. Dino had donated some bookcases that were in his possession. They <br /> turned out to be unsuitable for our use. dim suggested a letter to <br /> that effect be written to Mr. Dino. <br />
