i <br /> HISTORICAL COMMISSION <br /> JULY o 9 1998 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> III REPORTS . <br /> Goals and Plans for Fiscal year 1999 : - Joanne passed out this <br /> material and suggested that the commi sio.ners look them over <br /> and review what they were. supposed .to be doing this year . <br /> R. Burns explained that one of the -items under the three-year <br /> outlook, the commission would Like to move the Ockway Chapel. <br /> That is being proposed .to be placed on the .rational Register . <br /> Rosemary explained that she believed the town was trying to <br /> lump together the Ockway Chapel , the Meetinghouse, and the <br /> museum. <br /> Iv OLD BUSINESS : <br /> The historical commission had requested to order three books <br /> at the last meeting . (These are two of the three bok.s <br /> KING P ILLIP # S WAR By Morgan Peters <br /> ADAM' S EYES <br /> Application which had been seat; in, by the Town for the cemeteries : <br /> The historical commission was looking for some monies to survey <br /> the cemeteries in the Town . Joanne stated that she did not know <br /> what the status of that was . <br /> Ann reported that she had spoken to Cynthia Sturgis relative to <br /> this issue. She felt that it would be a long time coming <br /> probably late fall . <br /> The Ellis Rug : Rosemary suggested that perhaps the historical <br /> commission would like to offer the - Ellis Rug to the museum. <br /> ?rosemary suggested that she felt that the museum would be more <br /> appropriate to exhibit -it , The historical commission does not <br /> have the room to exhibit it . <br /> Joanneugg-ested that s.he discuss this Frith Bob Thr%tenour and <br /> see what he has to suggest . <br /> V NEW BUSINESS <br /> Joanne reported that- -George Baker had received correspondence <br /> from a Michael young. ,in Groveland , MA. He forwarded the cor- <br /> respondence to the historical commission. This ,person had a <br /> 1927 Diamond T open Cab Fire Truck, supposedly, it had be-en <br /> owned by Arthur Fiedler - a.fid also by Mshpee. Gordon Peters' <br /> followed up on this . <br /> - 1 <br /> „ .. ._..- Gordon stated that it developed that it had not come from Mashpee. <br /> At that point , he just left it , It was not ours , unless they <br /> can verlfr that . <br />
