i MASHPE HISTORICAL COMMISSION THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16 , 1995 9 . o A. M. PRESENT; R. BURN J. FERRAIUMo R. LYNCH A. WHITLOW II MINUTES. The minutes of the September 21, 1995 meeting were accepted as presented. III REPORTS: A. Equipment update: {New Computer) Ann whitlow reported } that Paul Keefe had indicated that he may he able to acquire quite a good computer for the historical commission which would meet their needs. Ann will keep her etre on that possibility. Joanne suggested that we might want to draft a letter to Joyce Mason, stating that the H. C. was to king for a new computer.. I f to her knowledge, someone in the Town Hall should update their computer, we are looking for an upgrade. Joanne suggested that if the H. C. should Grote to pur- chase a new Xerox rnachihe, we may want to forego the computer for another year. We may not want to .drain our budget with two major purchases in one year. Ann Whitlow explained that am .machine in the town is considered town property, therefore, the H. C, could not use their: present Xerox machine as a trace-in toward a new copier. Ann has tried to contact Xerox, and they _hare not returned her call with a price for a' photo copier without a trade- in consideration for this particular machine. Ann added that within the Town, e are requr to receive threeq uotes; one of those has to be what they call a "State Contract and' Pricing" i Ann had received written quotes from Cape Cod Copiers and. Superior Office Systems . The two machines from Cape Cool Copiers (Sharp) and Superior (MITA) were veky similar ex- cept for the capability of the number of copies per minute. There were many other good features to both machines. MITA is number three in copiers . Discussion followed. Ann recommended going with Superior office Systems. Joanne made a motion that they approvb' Ann v a recommendation. R. Burns seconded the motion.. ' ll in favor. ' so moved.
