Commission convened the meeting at 9--3)0 wn Wednesday, June 8, 2005 and <br /> proceeded to address the items on its agenda. <br /> The first order of business was review of the minutes of the last meeting, held November 19, <br /> 2004. They were approved unarn'mously. <br /> The second item consisted of a status review and discussion of the Commission's budget. <br /> Chairman Whitlow reported that more than 97% of the non-personnel budget has been expended. <br /> 110 <br /> Approximately $660 will be returned to the Town at the end of the fiscal year, June -) , 2005. <br /> This is a result of our clerk, Lois Wakefield-Perry starting after the beginning of the fiscal year. <br /> The balance in the Donation Account is S5,,649.3 2) of which $3),3)5 6.2 8 are restricted funds <br /> donated by Ann Tanneyhill. <br /> The third item involved reports on various Commission projects: <br /> The Schoolhouse: Ms. Whitlow announced that a"fends" group for the schoolhouse has been <br /> formed as a §503 (c)(3) corporation through the pro bonoassistance of Jeremy Carter at Wilkins <br /> & DeLong. This group vn-ll be known as "The Mashpee One-Room Schoolhouse Preservation <br /> Council",' or MOSPC- There will be 15 board members, at least one of whom must be a member <br /> of the Mashpee Historical Commission. The,MOSPC President will be N4HC member Sunny <br /> Merritt, Treasurer Grace Talmage and Clerk Fran Giambarba. Bylaws and Articles of <br /> Incorporation arre%being written and will be presented to the Commission. <br /> Next, discussion followed on the status of the data processing project. The Archives library data <br /> is complete and is being verified. Judy Godin is now working on the audio/video tapes. The <br /> designation of reference books is in progress. A separate data base of To positions will be <br /> created and linked to other information. Procedures are or will be written for how ail of this data <br /> is handled and kept up to date. <br /> A brief discussion ensued about handling a variety of documents and other materials. The <br /> Commissioners agreed unanimously to follow State guidelines for the disposition of historical <br /> records and to go through excess materials to better use limited storage space. <br />
