After a brief discussion, a motion was made b <br /> Ms. Finton and seconded by Ms. Williams to adjust the Voucher Payment Standards to <br /> refect 110% of the Fair Market Rents, effective October 1, 1993. The motion carried. <br /> Basketball Hoop at Breezv Acres: Mrs. Botsford explained that a resident at Breezy Acres had <br /> asked about installing a swingset for their children. Mrs. Botsford checked with the DHCD <br /> attorney who informed her that they recommend not allowing it unless the resident gets <br /> renter's insurance that specifically states that the housing authority will not be held liable for <br /> any injuries. figs. Botsford stated that DHCD did say that the housing authority could <br /> provide some general recreation to the residents by installing a basketball hoop with a sign <br /> that states "Play at your own risk". After a brief discussion, a notion was made by Ms. <br /> Finton and seconded by Ms. Williams to approve the erection of a basketball hoop at <br /> Breezy .Acres. The motion carried. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS: Mrs. Botsford asked the board to consider a policy regarding lawn <br /> maintenance at the 705. She explained that in the past there have been residents who do not <br /> maintain their yards as required in their lease. Since the housing authority is investing in new <br /> grass, Mrs. Botsford stated that she felt it would be important to make sure the lawns are <br /> properly maintained. After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Ms. Finton and <br /> seconded by Ms. Williams to adopt a policy to charge a fee of$25.00 per mewing at <br /> Breezy Acres, should a resident fail to snow their lawn on a regular basis after a reminder <br /> from the housing authority. The motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Botsford reported that she had received a letter from DHCD approving Mrs. Botsford's <br /> request for $582.00 to boxy an air conditioner for the community room. <br /> Next meeting will be held Thursday, September 9, 1999 at 5:30 PM. <br /> motion was made by Ms. Finton and seconded by Ms. Younger to adjourn.
