Mss. Botsford explained that she would
notice this with a few bills, particularly utility bills, die to the fact that bills are held and
paid at the board meetings and by the time the checks are sent, some vendors have
already sent their next bill which does not yet reflect the current payment (i.e. bilis and
checks end up"crossing in the mail".)
opo BUSINESS:
Technical Assistance Program Completion&@ura Sh It: Mrs. Botsford stated that she
had just received a couple hours ago a fax from the engineer at Coastal Engineering
indicating that he has determined that the parte! of land we've been given will
accommodate up to 56 one-bedroom units. He will be preparing a complete report and
forwarding it next week. Ms. Shufelt
described the difference between using a developer who take advantage of tax credits
and a developer who would be successful in getting a Federal 202 grant from HUD to
subsidize the rent. Ms. Shufelt explained that if we want design control and
management of the property then that needs to be in the Request for Proposals and
Request for Qualifications. Ms. Shufelt explained that the next round of funding for
202s is next May and that most 202s do not get funded the first round, but usually the
second year. Ms. Shufelt explained that the housing authority needs to try to find an
attorney who would do pro-bono work and handle the transfer of the land from the
town to the housing authority. Ms. Shufelt stated that she would be developing a
written report in the next couple weeks and would forward it to Mrs. Botsford.
