r
talking about how we may be able to work together. This agenda item may be more
appropriate under the non-profit (Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust) meeting, so Mr.
Storrs will be asked to come to that meeting at 5:30 PM on July 1 .
• firs. Botsford reported that she has contacted DHCD to inquire about an update on the
705/Modular home development. A"',kick-off""meeting is going to be scheduled with m
to go over the process for things. According to DHC , we will need to obtain funding
for the development and they have given me the following directive:
The financing plan that they've laid out for me is as follows: DHCD anticipates
being able to put project-basing a Section 8 certificate into each new modular
unit. The Section 8 rents will cover all the regular operating costs, including a
capital reserve account, with enough left over to support a mortgage for some of
the development cost.
The balance of the funding would core from various grant sources, such as the
Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the HOM E program, local Community
Preservation Act funds, HC 's Housing Dev. Support Program, and the Federal
Horne Loan Bank's Affordable Housing Program. All of these programs are very
competitive, but hopefully our applications would be attractive since we already
have the land. DHCD has told me that they still need to complete our
discussions with MHP to clarify issues such as construction financing, the
provision of technical assistance to help us apply for the necessary gap funding
before we can start anything.
OLD BUSINESS:
Ash r`s PathRFP-.Up ate:_Mrs. Botsford updated the board she and .fan Juhl mat with Alice
Lopez to discuss how we can better work together with the wampanoags, as we reed more
collaboration and support from them for this project; The meeting want well, although Alio
expressed concern about working with TCB, as they own Mashpee Village and there seem to b
so many problems there. Mrs. Botsford reported that Nis. Lopez was given a complete copy of
the HUD 202 application (minus any updates that will be needed for new application) and she
will present to the warnpanoag council at her upcoming rating with therm.
