Rocksthrown in by vandals and sand are building u
between the iettis. Usually DPW cleans out this area each spring. Don Myers will check to see if there
are plans to clean out this area. Barbara Nichols visited Leisure Services and requested that the ramp
attendants hard out pamphlets on not feeding the waterfowl. Gus Frederick was agreeable. Several
questions came up regarding tubing rules on the pond, and whether there.was any required distance for
bass fisherman to stay away from dols and swim areas. It appears that the Harbormaster boat has
reduced hours on the pond from last year. Barbara Nichols will cheek with ferry Ellis to get answers to
these questions and invite him to a.meeting.
Conclusions: The pond l ve] Temai s fairly constant, but over a foot of sand needs to be removed from the
dam area. Barbara will phone Perry Ellis; and invite him to a meeting.
[Age'n d a lo.pi ' ] Birch:-Shores-,.Boat, mooringfie'l d
Discussion: At a meeting on Jure 21 st, the Birch Shores residents defeated the proposal to rove the
stairs, float and half the moorings to the small vacant lot 118 feet from the head of the Mashpee River.
Aside from avoiding a nuisance to abutting landowners, the decision will help protect the river.
Conclusions: The Birch Shores proposal was defeated in a resident vote.
