[Agenda topic ] Boating rules ,
Discussion: Bill Taylor brought the latest version of the Mass. Environmental Police boating laws which
govern l lashpee and Wakeby Fonds. Mimi Joseph asked if the sign at the boat launch reminded boaters to
stag 150 ft. from shore and svn'm buoys. Ms. Joseph was concerned with the lack of Harbormaster
coverage in Wakeby Fond this past weekend, and'flagrant violations. She brought the broom and rule
book that she waves to boaters corning.too close to her dock or kayak'. Bill Marsters offered to cheep the
posting on the signs at the boat launch area. Mimi stated that in her discussion with harbormaster 0 Reilly
she Learned that-2 citations had been written on Mae Pond but none on Wakeby. She plans to speak
about this at the Selectmen's meeting on the 9h.
Conclusions: The new boating rules were reviewed and handed opt to members and guests.
[Agenda topic 41 Swimmer s Itch
Discussion: Swimmer's Itch has been reported in Wal eby Lake for the fourth July in a row by Susan
Rangel of Cotuit Rd. Barbara wrote an article on this for the
newsletter.
[Agenda tope 5] Gate Closure at Atta4uin Park
Discussion: A vote by members was unanimous to add the subject of gate closure at Atta uin Park to the
agenda. Because of rowdiness by males that hang out at the park, and a stabbing in June, the Ma hpee
Police Dept. is now locking the gate at 7:30 PM S after getting all cars out.of the parkinglot. The gate i
reopened at 8:30 AM before the lifeguards arrive.
Conlusions: To control problems at Attaqwon Park, the police are closing the gate at 7:30 PM.
The rne6fing was adjourned a 8:31 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara B.
