Both measurements were at 55.3 feet
esu
above sea level, with 13 and 12 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake. The board
levels have not been changed since November 2 1 . The levels were reported to Drew McManus in
Conservation. Precipitation has remained less than normal.
Conclusions: Dale levels were at 55.3 feet above sea level in August.
[Agenda topic 21 Red-Head. P nd e d
Discussion: Paul Petracca got some good pictures of the weed and it was identified by Jing Straub of
DC .as Pota-mogeton riehardsonii or red-head p n weed. It is a native plant although only noted in our
lake the last few years. Climate change and wanner water probably encouraged the spread. It propagates
through the seeds in the pod on top, so pulling it out would be the best way to prevent spread. It is
mentioned in the" Environmental Impact Deport" according to Andrew.
Conclusions: Although the red-head p nd geed is not an exotic species, members are still concerned
about its spread in the lakes.
