Y <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> Y <br /> LIBRARY BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes from the Meeting of Thursday, May 13, 2004 <br /> Committee Attendees: Other Attendees* <br /> Sheldon Gilbert Helene DeFoe, Librarian <br /> Bonnie Barrett John Rent, Mashpee Commons <br /> Dare Burton Ann MacDonald Dailey, Trustee and Liaison <br /> Ed DeFoe Don Meyer, Selectman <br /> Maureen Rounds Mrs. Meyer <br /> Steve Cook Nancy Stafford, Library Trustee <br /> Torn O'Neill Jerry Blum ngarten, Public Relations Committee <br /> Diana Lannon Nancy Soderberg <br /> Jane Dolan Mike Bailey, Mashpee Enterprise <br /> Chairman Sheldon Gilbert called the meeting to order at 7:1 PM. <br /> REVIEW of MINUTES of 4128104 <br /> The minutes were corrected as follows. under ESTABLISHMENT T of STANDING COMMITTEES, Jane <br /> Dolan's name should be added to the construction committee members. The minutes were unanimously <br /> approved as corrected. <br /> f <br /> REVIEW OF STANDING COMMITTEES <br /> Bonnie Barrett reported that she plans to contact Fd Larkin,from Southport, and Glenn Marshall, <br /> President of the Wampanoag Tribal Council, to inquire whether they know+,of anyone who ,night b <br /> interested in serving on the Publicity Committee. Russ Maloney, F SC fundraising chairman for the � <br /> Senior center} will be consulted for ideas arra suggestions. Bonnie has compiled a set of strategies for <br /> building a strong library organization and a new library(See Attachment A). <br /> The other standing committees will core to the next LBC meeting prepared to report on their ideas, and <br /> membership additions. <br /> REVIEW of MEETINGS WITH FRIENDS, I ASH EE COMMONS, TRUSTEES, AND JOYCE MASON. � <br /> Sheldon Gilbert reported that at these meetings, a summary was presented with the 5 options, and the <br /> logic for selection of option 1. The groups were all very supportive of the LBC efforts, and of the selection <br /> of option 1. The presentation to the Burd of Selectmen is scheduled for June copy of the <br /> presentation will be delivered to the Selectmen one week before June 7 'r for their review.. - <br /> Helene DeFoe stated that a ,meeting with the Rotary is scheduled for next week, which she will attend. <br /> Bonnie Barrett stated that Mr. Chace is very supportive of the new library r acrd the efforts of the LBC, and <br /> is trying to do ghat he can to rove the project forward. <br /> REVIEW of SCHEDULE of CRITICAL DECISION DATES <br /> Monday, June 7th: presentation to the Burd of Selectmen. A copy of the presentation will be delivered <br /> to the Selectmen one week before the June 7t' ,meeting. The original presentation will be reviewed and <br /> modified by the LBC before the June 7th date- <br /> Mo <br /> ate.i nday, July 1 t�': warrant article due for inclusion in the 10/18/04 Torn Meeting. <br /> NEW BUSINESS. <br /> Torn O'Neill Report on May Stn Forum. Torn reiterated that the purpose of the forum was to bring together <br /> architects, cavil engineers, systems analysts and educators, to review the course being followed by the <br /> LBC: to assess whether the group was on the right trach.
