OLD BUSINESS. Results of the library survey conducted by the Library Trustees have been compiled. Dare Burton stated that the survey results would be rade available to the LBC at the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS. Future Activities Publicity. The committee will be meeting on 8/14/04 at the library at 3:30 PM. Names of any additional persons interested in joining the committee should be communicated to Bonnie Barrett. Jerry Blur engarten has prepared a draft of a flier for publicity purposes. suggestions/comments for Oban ge are welcome. Fund Raising. Plans for the two v illowbend benefit concerts in August are being finalized. The benefit auction at Popponesset Marketplace is scheduled for July 24th. Planning. The issue of planning for a basement for the new library has been raised. The question needs to be addressed as to whether there is good reason for future consideration of this added expense to the overall project. Presentations.tions. It was suggested that a presentation to the Mashpee Women's Club be arranged for some time in September. Greats. Sheldon reported that Patience Jackson is meeting next Tuesday, June 15 cn with Helene Del=oe to discuss our library plans as currently developed. Patience has many issues with the current design, in teras of winning a State grant. Bonnie Barrett asked for clarification of the rationale behind the volunteer effort being organized to spruce up the existing library. Sheldon explained that the library is going to be used for another several years, until the new library becomes a fact. The earliest date for beginning of construction of the new library is July 1, 2006, The library staff has to live in the building, the townspeople need to use the building, and we want it to be a welcoming place. As soon as all 4 participants.reports have been received, a full report will be prepared for use by the LBC, OPEN DISCUSSION Jerry Blurengarten reported plans for a website mission statement for the Mashpee citizens Association. The goal of the association is to promote voter registration, attendance at town meetings, involvement of individuals in Town volunteer work, and support of the new library project.
