Election Day—John Rent agreed to print up 600 sheets each with 8"`MOTE YES" handouts. "Cut <br /> Up" parties were organized by members of the LBC to separate the handouts. John also agreed to <br /> run off extra copies of the Q&A sheets. Sheldon Gilbert agreed to make up signs to be displayed on <br /> easels outside the voting building. ` <br /> Sheldon expressed appreciation and kudos from the entire LBC to Bonnie Barrett and her publicity <br /> committee for the tremendous job they have done in blanketing the community to get the word out <br /> about the new library project. <br /> Construction Report art—Steve Comdr. Steve reported that,lame Dolan went through all the <br /> information received from participants in the May Forum and has prepared a report with the <br /> recommendations given by the consultants. Stere and Jane would like to get together with the LBC <br /> to decide what recommendations on the library design to present to the architect selected. Jane's <br /> report will be distributed to the committee members for their review before the next LBC meeting. <br /> STATUS of LETTER of INTENT—Helene eFoe. Helene reported that the long-range building <br /> plan was forwarded several weeks ago to the Board of Library Commissioners. Helene hes given <br /> Sheldon a copy of the building program adopted by the Beard of Trustees, for his review. The <br /> outstanding issue is the selection of ars architect by the LBC, which must be received by the <br /> Commissioners by 10/19/04. Thirty-eight inquiries to the RFP were received, and applications were <br /> seat out. From this group, seven submitted applications. A review committee consisting of Sheldon <br /> Gilbert, Nancy Stafford, Tori O'Neill, Steve cook and Helene DeFoe evaluated the applications and <br /> selected three finalists_ The Town Manager's office will schedule appointments for interviews with the <br /> finalists. The name of the architect selected will be faxed on October I a to the Board of Library <br /> Commissioners. The Board of Selectmen will meet on Nov. 1 and at that time will make the official <br /> selection on behalf of the Town, after which a contract will be negotiated with the selected architect. <br /> The contract schedule calls for phase 1 and phase 2 to be done between November'04 and February <br /> o _ Phase l: to assist in the review of the application for the grant to the State. Phase : to finalize <br /> the schematic plans for both design option 1 and 2, option 2 being the one that will be seat with the <br /> grant application. option 1 design calls for a 1 ,3 o-sq.ft building; option 2 is for a 20,190 sq. ft. <br /> building. <br /> NEVA BUSINESS <br /> 1. The storage shed for the library will be delivered this week. All the books currently stored in <br /> crates in the library will be placed in the shed, opening up much-needed additional space. <br /> 2. The library website page is near completion by Ted Hadolny.
