As there was no quorum, approval of the minutes <br /> from the previous meeting of 5131105 was deferred until the next meeting. <br /> Mashpee Enterprise Article from 6117105 <br /> Melinda Gallant reported that there were a number of mistakes panted in the article. The LBC hada <br /> choice either to go-back to the Enterprise and ask that correction be printed in the net issue} or reale <br /> corrections in a follow-up article after July 7t'. Melinda, Dave Burton and Helene DeF a will collaborate <br /> n preparation of three separate press releases, one for each possible outcome: if we are awarded <br /> grant money immediately; if we are put on a waiting list; or if we are requested to subunit further <br /> information and will then be placed at the bottom of the waiting list. <br /> Fund Raising Deport—Melinda Gallant <br /> Cocktail Parties. Melinda Gallant reported that she is working with Torn O'Neill on plans for two cocktail <br /> parties to be hosted by New wr Seabury residents with waterfront homes, one in July and one in August. <br /> New They are pulling together a list of a Seaburyites that would be interested in attending such an event. <br /> She-is planning to put together a Power Point pre entabon or something similar, to get across the <br /> information we errant people to have about plans and activities geared toward the new library. <br /> Cape Cod Fire l eetfng. Melinda announced a meeting she has scheduled with Dave Willard at the <br /> Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank to discuss where the Cape Cod Five Foundation might be in terms of <br /> funding some sort of naming opportunity here in Mashpee. The Foundation'loves naming opportunities, if <br /> they know it is going to be used for some very worthy cause. The neer Mashpee library certainly qualifies <br /> as such a cause. <br /> Arts & Crafts Fair—Friends of the Library. The Friends are planning to sponsor a j u ried Art's &Drafts <br /> fair to be held on August 2&at the Commons. The crafts group putting on the fair this year is one that <br /> works only at libraries. <br /> Market Street Books—,Janet Birchfield. Melinda has a meeting scheduled with Janet Birchfield at <br /> Market Street Books, to discuss author signings and money from book sales,'etc. <br /> Brochure—Kathy S eers. Melinda distributed a draft of a brochure that is being prepared pro bono <br /> KathySeers. The brochure y <br /> p u will be used rr�a�#err, with copes a# available for distribution at the <br /> library circulation desk. The campaign thrust of the message in the brochure is, "The library is the <br /> cornerstone of the community'. Loose leaf inserts will be included in the brochure, giving people the <br /> opportunity to mail in contributions to the Mashpee Library. <br /> Signage for.the Library. A sign to be planed in front of the library will be ready by August 1, in time to <br /> capture the attention of the summer Cape visitors. The sign must be approved by Mashpee Commons, <br /> and will include a rendering of the proposed new library. f <br />
