7 <br /> Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> March 22, 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Annual Town Meeting: (continued) <br /> Petition#18 and#19: Due to a clerical oversight there are (2) petition articles relative to <br /> 37 Center Street. For disclosure, it was indicated this matter is currently <br /> in litigation. <br /> The petitioners of Articles#18 &Article#19 were in attendance to further discuss the matter <br /> of the 37 Center Street condominium, Approval of Article 418 would allow the Board of <br /> Selectmen to purchase an 80% low income restriction on real property identified as 37 Center <br /> Street, Mashpee and increase the Towns affordable/subsidized housing inventory. <br /> Approval of Article#19 would release the deed restriction on the property in exchange for the <br /> petitioners to provide payment of all funds in excess of the resale price to the Town of Mashpee <br /> Affordable Housing Trust. <br /> It was disclosed that regardless of the outcome, the petition articles are non-binding. <br /> Several members of the Finance Committee voiced support to the petition articles having <br /> attributes to benefit the Town of Mashpee by bringing in additional revenue and adding to the <br /> affordable housing inventory. <br /> Motion, made by Mr. Pettengill to recommend approval of Petition Article#18 as <br /> presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. McKelvey. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0-1. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Richardson,yes Mr. Pettengill,yes Mr. McKelvey,yes <br /> Mr. McCahill,yes Mrs. Furbush, abstained Opposed, none <br /> Motion made by Mr. McKelvey to recommend approval of Article#19 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Pettengill. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0-1. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr, Richardson <br /> 3 yes Mr. Pettengill,yes Mr. McKelvey,yes <br /> Mr. McCahill,yes Mrs. Furbush, abstained Opposed, none <br />
