Board of Appeals Minutes - February 11, 1998 <br /> 3. <br /> There was discussion of the entry porch and Mr. Hauck stated that they are allowed a 4' <br /> Platform for an entry, Mr. Grotzke said the design of the house required columns. Mr. <br /> Regan asked for elevations on the house. Joanne Fox, an abutter, said she objected as did <br /> her neighbor, Mr. Silver. She stated that the front entrance is a two story addition which <br /> appears massive and is too close to the street. ,She suggested that the area be redesigned <br /> to conform more to zoning. Mr. Makunas stated that he could not see any hardship in the <br /> application since it was a huge house, <br /> Mr. Govoni moved to deny without prejudice. Mr. Regan seconded. All agreed. <br /> Michael McCarthy -Requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of the Zoning By-laws for <br /> permission to vary the minimum lot size requirement on property located in an R-5 zoning <br /> district at 232 Hooppole Road (Map 49, Block 187)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: <br /> Gerald J. Betro) <br /> Members sitting: E. Govoni, C, Hawver, J. Regan <br /> Michael Loumas, broker, represented the applicant and explained that the lot was <br /> originally held with an adjacent lot which was sold in 1990, Mr. Govoni stated that this <br /> lot could not be combined with any other lot. He said he had received a phone call from <br /> an abutter in favor of the application. Mr, Makunas said he considered it a free-standing <br /> buildable lot. Mr. Govoni moved to grant a frontage variance to allow 80 foot frontage <br /> and allow a lot size variance to allow a lot of 13,070 square feet. Ms. Hawver seconded. <br /> All agreed The Board found that without relief the lot could not be used for a residence, <br /> the purpose for which it had been laid out and for which the balance of the lots in the <br /> subdivision were being used, <br /> Crai&Lynch-Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-17, 174-20, 174-33 and 174- <br /> 25.A.8 of the Zoning By to allow conversion of a dwelling to accommodate not <br /> more than two families on property located in an R-3 zoning district at 70 Popponesset <br /> Island Road (Map 106, Block 28)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of Record: Albert A. and <br /> Lillian Hollander), <br /> Craig Lynch - Requests a Variance from Section 174-25.1.9 of the Zoning By-laws for <br /> permission to exceed the 70 foot dock length limit to allow a 161 foot dock on property <br /> located in an R-3 zoning district at 70 Popponesset Island Road (Map 106, Block 28) <br /> Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: Albert A. and Lillian Hollander), <br /> Craig Lynch -Requests a Special Permit under Section 174-2519 of the Zoning By-laws <br /> for the construction of a dock on property located in an R-,3 zoning district at 70 <br /> Popponesset Island Road (Map 106, Block 28)Mashpee, MA, (Owner of record: Albert <br /> A. and Lillian Hollander). <br />
